There is a new song out from Californian indie-rock band, Warpaint. Well, there is 30 seconds of a new song out from Californian indie-rock band, Warpaint. And it appears on an advert.
Warpaint’s first album, The Fool, is a wonderful album, full of moody guitar and sexy vocals. It is rich, energetic, purposeful, and you can listen to it for hours on end.
But Love Is To Die feels different; stripped back, smoother, nuder. Actually, and surprisingly for a 30 second clip, it gets a little bit boring.
Of course, of course, it is only a tiny little clip. And of course, it’s far too soon to make any real judgement on how the next album will sound. But so far things don’t look too promising.
Then again, maybe I’m just cross because they put themselves in an advert for bloody Calvin Klein jeans.
